Boise X Games: Meet Grant Taylor – Men’s Skateboard Park

From Atlanta, Georgia Grant Taylor is ranked 127th in the world overall and 26th in Park, which will be the featured event in Boise. At 26 years old, Grant has been to the X Games three times and is hoping to repeat his silver medal performance from 2011.

Grant is the son of professional skateboard Thomas Taylor, who opened the first skate shop in Atlanta. With a solid example to follow, Grant started early on the skateboard and at age 13 he finished second at the 2004 Phoenix Am. He has also been in dozens of skate films including Nothing But The Truth (2007), Debacle (2009), Don’t Fear The Sweeper (2010) and The SB Chronicles Vol. 01 (2011).

His finest year as a professional came in 2011. After winning the silver medal in the X Games, he was named the Skater of the Year by Thrasher Magazine. Quite the honor for the kid from Atlanta.

Grant is no stranger to Rhodes Skate Park. He and a couple of other pros tackled Rhodes as part of their Nike SB’s “Loud Pack” video.

As he has already skated here, he will know the lines to take and look for Cory to be a strong contender to make the top 6 and earn the right to be an X Games skater.

Cory is sponsored by Creature, Vans, Skeleton Key, OJ’s, Indy, Paradox, and RockStar.
